Write to hello@amoli.app and a person will answer.

Amoli is made by one person. Replies are not instant, but they are real — and they come from the developer, not a queue.

Common questions

Why is there a large download the first time?

Because the model that reads your photographs lives on your phone rather than on someone's server. Those are its files. It downloads once, over Wi-Fi, and then it is yours — it continues to work with no connection at all.

Why is the first read-through so slow?

Amoli reads each photograph individually, on the phone, using the same model it would otherwise have to send your pictures away to reach. A large library is genuinely hours of reading. It goes fastest with Amoli open and the phone on a charger, and it continues in the background when you set it aside. It never starts over, and nothing else waits on it — your journal works from the first moment.

Does Amoli work without an internet connection?

Yes, entirely — once the model has been downloaded.

Amoli described someone as "a woman" instead of by name.

It only knows the names you teach it. Open a photograph, tap Who’s here?, and name the faces. From then on Amoli calls that person by name wherever they appear — in readings written after you named them. Tap Re-read on an older photograph to have it rewritten with the names in place.

Can I correct what Amoli wrote?

Always. Every reading can be edited in your own words, re-read, or set aside entirely. What you write yourself is what Amoli treats as true.

Where is my journal kept, and how do I back it up?

On your device, in Amoli's own storage — nowhere else. Amoli can export an encrypted backup, protected with a passphrase you choose, which you can save wherever you like. Keep that passphrase somewhere safe: it cannot be recovered.

How do I delete everything?

Delete the app. Everything it holds goes with it. Nothing was ever sent anywhere else.

Which iPhones can run it?

Amoli asks a great deal of the phone, so it launches on the higher-performance models first. Support for more devices is planned as the model footprint comes down.

Reporting a problem

If something breaks, email hello@amoli.app with your iPhone model, your iOS version, and what you were doing when it happened. Please don't send photographs or personal details — they are not needed, and Amoli's whole point is that they stay with you.
